A highly active and multifaceted artist, Geoffrey Fiorese (1990) is at once a jazz pianist, improviser, composer, arranger, and electronic musician.
He graduated in June 2017 with a Master’s degree with highest distinction from the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Brussel, where he was awarded the conservatory’s top prize, the Toots Thielemans Jazz Award, following a brilliant final concert performed with his big band.
A natural leader, he has headed numerous ensembles over the years (Terpsichore, Geoffrey Fiorese Tentet, Big Band, quintet, etc.), building a strong reputation within the Belgian jazz scene.
In 2014, he won the XL Jazz Contest with his quintet.
In 2018, he released his first tentet album, Dance, Blue Lady!, on the German label QFTF.
As the leader of Terpsichore, his quartet influenced by the style of Keith Jarrett, he released a self-titled album in 2022, which was selected as a “Jazz Revelation” by Jazz Magazine. The album was released on the Outhere label and features saxophonist Antonin Tri-Hoang as a special guest.
He regularly tours with the Julien Marga 4tet, with which he won the Trophées du Sunside in 2016, as well as the Tonnerre de Jazz award (Pau, France) and the CosmoJazz SACEM award in 2019.
Geoffrey also stands out in the group ODIL, where he can be heard on piano as well as Fender Rhodes and synthesizers. The group has released three albums to date, featuring artists such as Nina Kortekaas, Leïla Martial, and Valentin Ceccaldi.
Constantly seeking new musical horizons, Geoffrey resumed his studies in 2021, this time focusing on electronic music at the Koninklijk Conservatorium van Antwerpen. He then discovered the world of live coding music in 2021 under the guidance of coding pioneer Dago Sondervan (aka Anton Price).
Now a prominent member of the Lambdasonic collective, he is a frequent live coding performer across Belgium.
He also regularly works as an arranger for the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and teaches jazz harmony and arranging at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
